Knee Surgery
JL had his knee scoped on Wednesday. He was originally scheduled to have this done last Wednesday, but as Murphy would have it, that was the day after Wyatt was born, so he had to cancel. Really, I should thank him though - had he scheduled his surgery any later (say after my due date like you'd figure he would), I'd probably still be pregnant!
He's been laid up, but otherwise he's doing fine. We've been soaking up a lot of college basketball and family time. Thank goodness Grandma is around to care for all of us though!!

First Outting
The weather has been beautiful here the last few days! Yesterday, we took the whole family out for a walk to the park. Wyatt loved his first outting! He was loving the sunshine and the stroller ride.

James and Izzy showed him the future fun on the playscape. As did Grandma!

He returned home tuckered out and happy as a clam.

Baby has Arrived!
Baby arrived on 1/19/2010 at 9:54pm and....It's a BOY! So far I'm 3 for 3 on my guesses!

Wyatt Enoch 7 lbs 10 oz 19.5 inches long
He's such a sweet boy! He's a good pound bigger than any of the other two were at birth, so to us, he looks huge! He's a great eater and already has a huge love and interest in his siblings. We're so excited to have this precious little boy join our family!

Getting Close
So I think baby #3 is getting close to making his/her arrival. JL and I spent a couple hours at the hospital Saturday night thinkin' it was the real deal. Unfortunately (or fortunately - however you want to look at it) it wasn't. Contractions were 5 mins apart, but they weren't progressing. So they sent me home with a "try to take it easy and hopefully they will stop for at least a week" request. So have they stopped? Not really. Some days I feel like I have another week in me - others (like today) I think it's more like days. I have a dr. apt tomorrow, so we'll see if there has been any progress. In the meantime, the suspense is killing me! Baby #3 - we are anxious to see you!!!!

A Sunbeam
It is really hard for me to believe, but James is now a Sunbeam! Although its only been one Sunday, he's suddenly so grown up. He told Daddy the other night during dinner prayer that he didn't need help anymore with his prayers because he was a Sunbeam and grown up. It was so cute. He's extremely proud to be part of the Primary.
Saturday before his first day, the Primary threw a pancake breakfast where the kids could come and meet their new class/teachers. James soaked up every minute of it. I think he's going to love this new level of lessons and learning.

Adios 2009
Every New Years Eve for the past, oh I'd say 4 years, we go over to the Alvarez house to join them in their family tradition of making Empanadas to ring in the new year. The kids just love it. I think both of my children would be perfectly happy if I told them one day they were going to go and live with the Alvarezs. No questions asked, they'd just do it. Especially little Izzy. She seems to be quite fond of Dario. She calls him on her plastic phones all the time. She could say his name before she could say Daddy, for crying out loud. :-)
Anyway, it's always fun to join in on this celebration. This year, Dario's parents were in town. They were able to show us how it is really done!

Pre-empanada making. It was finally warm outside so we spent a great deal of the afternoon soaking up the sun on the deck. I just had to laugh at this James face.

The empanada making crew

At some point in the night, James morphed into Spiderman

Meanwhile, Isabel was Clark Kent

This is the empanada James made. We'll spare you the pictures of the ones Daddy made

What a tease!
