Cody: 6 Months

Six months have just flown by!  In that time - Cody has been such a great baby!  He is mellow and happy and always up for whatever crazy we are doing at the time.

He is still eating really REALLY well.  Some days it seems I can't give this boy enough food!  He had his 6 mo check up and came in at the 45% on weight.  For our kids - that is really good!!  He's definitely the biggest one at this age we've had.  He's also topping out (as usual) in the 95% for height.

He's working on sitting.  He can totally do it - but he just almost doesn't want to!  I've caught him a few times for a few minutes, but when he sees me, he usually flops over.  Or he does this....

April 15 - First official length of time to sit up

Cody: 5 Months

Cody is the smiliest guy right now!  He will smile at any face that greets him!  He's also big into putting anything and everything into his mouth!  I had a really hard time snapping a good picture of him this month because he wouldn't keep his hands off the monkey!

He is eating anything and everything too.  I haven't found a food he doesn't like yet.  I'm still mixing everything with baby cereal and diluting it with formula, but he's happy to eat whatever I offer him.

I would say his favorite activity is still watching his siblings.  They are loud and always in motion - and he digs that sort of thing!

Cody: 4 Months

4 months have sure flown by!  

Cody is sleeping a solid 12 hours at night now.  He is giggling and laughing and trying to talk to all of us.  He makes coo's and goo's and sometimes he just makes noise.  (I think he is trying to let his voice be heard among the other loudness.)  He is big into chewing things right now.  He also sucks his thumb (like Izzy and Wyatt) AND his fingers (just like James!)  He really hasn't made up his mind which will be his preference yet - it's cute in the meantime to see him do both!

4 Months also marks the beginning of baby food.  Day 1 (Jan 20th) Cody did NOT like it.  He was fussing and mad and finally just spit it all out!  This happened to be the same day as Wyatt's birthday party - so I'm not sure if he wasn't just really tired and ready for bed!

By day 2, he was a pro at it.  He even would open his mouth and smile after each bite!  His favorite right now is oatmeal mixed up with some apples.  He is not a fan of green beans!

Another great about this past month is Tummy Time!  Cody LOVES tummy time - more than any of my others have!  He has excellent head control and can grab stuff and pull it right up to his mouth.  He also really likes to "talk" to stuffed animals and listen to music of any kind.

Often times he is just very still.  Listening and watching all of us.  But always happy!

What a sweetie and a blessing!

Cody: 3 Months

Sweet Cody is just a JOY!!  He is mellow and cuddly and happy!  Everyone just loves him to pieces.  Isabel is like his 2nd mother.  Fetching diapers and wipes and binkies and toys for him.  Wyatt likes to pull silly faces and entertain him all the time.  James likes to talk to him and ask him questions and then make up answers that he swears Cody communicated to him somehow.  Hey, I believe it.  I talk to Codeman all the time - and he answers back.  

He's an excellent eater and a good sleeper.  Although, at this point, he's only going about 4 to 5 hours in the night.  Still - a great, great baby!  He is all smiles and he watches all of us with those big beautiful blue eyes. 

Cody: 2 Months

Cody is 2 months old today!  He is such a sweet, sweet baby!  This month he's all smiles and coo's.  He loves to hear his name and opens his mouth wide when you say "hi" to him.  He absolutely loves his brothers and sister.  He can watch them for hours on end.  He also loves the dogs, and they continue to love him. :)

He sleeps about 4 hrs a stretch in the night.  He loves to snuggle and he continues to be an excellent eater.  Just look at those cheeks!  hehe

First Smiles

Oct 25 - Cody is all smiles suddenly!  He loves to flash a huge toothless grin whenever you say his name or tell him hi.  He has even started adding a little "goo" or "ahoo" with it!  It is so adorable - it just melts my heart!  He's so awake lately and aware of all of us.  He's such a cutie!

Cody: 1 Month

Oct 24 - Cody is 1 month old!  How time flies!  What a great baby he is - he's super mellow and very easy going.  He already doesn't mind car rides, he loves to swing, he enjoys watching his brothers and sister play around (infact sometimes if the house is quiet (which is like never) he gets upset!)  

He is a great eater!  Already wearing his 3 mo' old clothes in this picture!  He blew through the NB stuff in no time!  He loves to listen to us sing, and he's super fond of laying on the couch with a pillow half propping him up so he can look around and watch.  Sometimes he will sit quietly like this for quite a while.  He's so precious and we all just love him to pieces!

Quatro!

Life with 4 kids is going great.  Cody is an EXCELLENT baby!  He rivals his older brother Wyatt for calmness and happiness.  Plus, I have some wonderful helpers now that can spot me with caring for our new little one.  Isabel is wonderful at picking out Cody's clothes and Wyatt likes to fetch diapers and wipes.  They are also great at giving Cody a binki when he needs one and/or trying to entertain him long enough for me to snatch him up.

Can you spot the baby?  Isabel delights in dressing up her babies to look like Cody.  I gave her some of the old onesies  that Cody wasn't going to wear and she immediately put each of her dolls in one of them. :)

Cody is the BEST at watching football games with Momma.  He loves to sit with me and cheer! ;-)

Settling In

Life with Cody at home is delightful!  He is such a mellow fellow!  We thought Wyatt was a chill dude - Cody so far is giving him a run for his money!  He's super easy going.  He usually will just sit quietly and watch the chaos around him.  And he's been an excellent sleeper!  Those first few nights home from the hospital - he went 5 to 6 hrs at night!  What?  I know - it was nice.  

Now that he's starting to wake up a bit from his super sleepy phase, he goes about 3 to 4 hrs at night.  Still - that's great!  He loves to cuddle (although not quite as much as Wy Guy) and is content most of the time.  He's an excellent eater and is growing good!

Today was his 2 week checkup.  2 weeks have passed already!  He got glowing reviews.  He's back to his birthweight and all signs of jaundice have passed!  He's loved by his siblings, but I think the one who loves him the most has to be Manny!  Those two are hardly seen apart these days!
