Two Thumbs...

Way up! This movie was so much better than the first one! I absolutely loved it. My only complaint: they should have made poor Edward go to the gym at least once before taping! I mean, that was just unfair! I'm totally Team Edward, but had I not read the books, I believe I would be switching teams! They just didn't do a good job casting Edward. He's not at all what I had in mind, and just continues to distract me from my vision of what he should be.

Had they asked me, I would have chosen this guy. He plays Stefan in the Vampire Diaries. He's got my idea of the complete Edward look. Dark, mysterious, handsome, and enough meat on his bones that he doesn't look like the animal diet he's on is starving him to near death. He's not werewolf huge, but that's not the point. No one likes an emaciated vamp!

At Months End

Here's a few random pictures from this past month that I wanted to share.

The Beach in November?

We took the opportunity Saturday to take the kids to the lake. The weather was warm, and we were all restless from having just come out of our turkey comas.

JL picked a park that was near to our house, but that none of us had yet been too. (He was doing recon. to see if it would be a good spot to launch the boat in the spring.) Surprise! It was awesome! We hope to do some camping and boating there when the winter ends. (Assuming JL survives the time apart from his boat.)

Thanksgiving 2009

We had a great Thanksgiving this year. Originally, we were going to have a tender TN Thanksgiving with Aunt Myrt and family, but alas, I'm too pregnant to travel. And, since Aunt Myrt is too pregnant to come to us, we decided to stick around town and enjoy some downtime with the family.

We started the day with the Macy's Thanksgiving parade. Followed by immediate eggnog drinking, digging out the Christmas decorating, and the putting up the tree. The dogs enjoyed sleeping during all the excitement!

Thankfully, our TX family (The Alvarez bunch) were kind enough to invite us over to share in their Thanksgiving feast. I was grateful for the break from having to cook all morning!

The kids had a blast playing with their friends and JL and I enjoyed spending time with our friends.

I think baby #3 has a deep love for pie. I was getting some serious kicks and excitement right after the 2 pieces I enjoyed! ;-)

Hand Gobblers

My friend Jennifer is extremely crafty and clever! I am always in awe of the fun projects she comes up for her kids to do. This year, it was turkey sugar cookies made out of a mold of the kids' hand prints. She invited us over last week to share in the excitement of making these fun cookies.

James took great care in decorating his hand turkeys. Izzy on the other hand, went straight for just eating hers. Icing and candy-corn beaks were too elaborate for her gobbler. She just wanted to skip to the end. :-)

The kids had a great time and then played for about 2 hrs afterwards! It was a great start to our holiday week!

Pre-Turkey

James had his Preschool Thanksgiving feast on the 19th. The parents were allowed to come and watch the kids feast. It was fun to see James walk into the lunch room and find his nameplace and then get excited when he realized me and Izzy were there to celebrate with him. He ate well and enjoyed showing me the crafts he had made for the festivities.

Serenity Now

Is 3 the hardest age? Please say that it is. I don't know if it is just me and this pregnancy, but I do not have the patience for age 3!

Absence makes the heart...

Mourn! It is going to be a long winter, I'm afraid. What with the boat in storage and all. What's a JL to do? Adorn his truck with boat reminders, or course!
