"The music changed, and Charlie tapped on Edward's shoulder. It wasn't nearly as easy to dance with Charlie. He was no better at it than I was, so we moved safely from side to side in a tiny square formation. Edward and Esme spun around us like Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers."
Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer
I'm not surprised this was the nearest book, considering it hasn't left my side since I started it this morning. :-)

Tyke Light
Here's one of my new favorite things so far in 09 - The TykeLight by MOBI. Since James was a newborn, a standard wall-plug, plain Jane, yellow illuminating, night light has done the trick. But, about a month ago he started to become afraid of the dark. He would complain about being scared and wanted to sleep with his lamp on (which we did for a while). But that kept his room so bright, he'd wake up at 4am and assume the sun was up and it was time to play. Um, yeah no. That wasn't going to work out.
So I began looking for an alternative. What I found is my new favoritest thing EVER! This thing charges up all day and then lights up his room with a nice, soft, green glow all night. And it is his new favorite buddy. He's not afraid anymore as long as "Mr. Glowie" is there to "keep the dark away." And the best part is, it's mobile so if he gets extra worried in the night, he just snatches it off his bookcase and brings it to bed with him. I'm totally going to get Isabel Jeanne the pink one when this becomes an issue for her as well.

Boat Show
This past Saturday we took the kids to the Boat Show. I think this is the first time we've gone since we had the kids, and I must say I was plesantly surprised at how much fun they had and how much fun I had with them both in tow!
We started the tour with snacks (naturally!) The last time we came, they had a grill with hot dogs and french fries and such. James was sorely disappointed he couldn't get his fries that we had foolishly hyped. But a chocolate peanut butter cookie and a king size snicker bar (I know, I know) resolved his sadness.
James was so interested! He wanted to see every single boat. And to make sure that we accomplished this goal, he allowed us all about 4 seconds (per boat) to make our inspections, possibly sit, and then move on to the next one.

Isabel was happy to voice her opinion either from the stroller, or her Daddy's arms. Despite not really having a nap, she was great! There was so much going on and so many colors and lights that she just goo'd and gaa'd. Eventually, it all caught up to her though!

Izzy: 11 Months
Hard to believe that our little girl is almost 1! It seems like only yesterday we were moving and I was out to there pregnant. Time really does fly by WAY too fast.

Taking pictures is getting harder as Isabel gets more active. I had to laugh when I snapped this one:

It reminded me of this one:

James at 11 months
Must be the age I suppose! I think they both figured I was trying to lay them down for a nap or something.
Isabel is still deep in love with her babyfood. I have tried to give her small pieces of banana and those Gerber star things, but she is not really that interested. She picks them up and plays with them for a while before throwing everything onto the floor.

When she does happen to accidentally get one in her mouth, she starts to whine and gag. It's really quite odd. James was all over finger food at a much earlier age. Originally I thought it was her lack of teeth, but now that she has some I haven't seen an improvement. Ah well. I suppose it will come in time. Doubt she'll be 4 and still eating pureed mac'n'cheese.
