Just Tricks no Treats

The kids refrained from trick or treating this year which meant I got to enlist them in my yearly quest to scare the neighborhood trick or treaters. James was a natural! He came up with the idea to hide behind our blowie and yell boo as he jumped out at people approaching the porch. He thought it was so funny when the kids would scream! (I really don't know where he gets this from!) Izzy took great delight in handing out HANDFULLS of candy to the kids wearing princess costumes and telling them how much she loved their princess costume. Usually it went something like this:

"Look Mom! It's Sweeping Booty!" She would then grab a huge handfull of candy, walk over the unsuspecting princess and yell "I love your costume - happy Halloween!" (Except for the time she said Happy Birthday then giggled!) hehe

We all sat out on the bench and waited for the action to start

Figuring out his perfect hiding spot. This is just before the idea to hide behind the blowie hit him

Several kids stood on the sidewalk and refused to approach the house because it was so scary

I personally don't see what the big whoop was. Ok, I admit - it's pretty good!

Last Ride?

We took the boat out Saturday for a couple hours. The weather was great! Not a cloud in the sky. We took an hour ride and then parked for another hour. It was so wonderful to relax on the water and enjoy the warmth of the day.

The kids had a great time even though we didn't do any swimming this time around. It's amazing to see how far they have come in just a season on the boat. They use to have to be ON my lap 98% of the time (which is hard with the two of them plus a new baby) but now they both sit up in the nose for the majority of the ride. If not there, they sit towards the back and watch the waves splash by. Either way, they are very responsible and well behaved! They are going to be loads of fun next summer!

Isabel wanted to get in - that is, until she stuck her toes in and decided the water was just a BIT cooler this time of year

Trunk or Treat

The gang gearing up to get some treats

James and Izzy lookin' so cute. James went around with Dad and Wyatt, but Izzy came back to hang out with me and Pancho. She got one sucker and one pack of smarties and decided she was good for the year.

Wyatt had a blast! He thought the whole thing was fascinating and too much fun!

Pancho dressed up like a bucking bull. He is a huge fan of the kids and they are a huge fan of him. Our trunk was quite a spectacle.

What a Ham

Wyatt went missing the other night right after dinner. I found him like this:

Spooky Playdate

On Wednesday the ward playdate was a Halloween party. The kids loved it - they got to practice their costumes and run around with their friends. I took a few pictures of the prep. My kids really get into their costumes.....

During the party they got to make ghost suckers (although Isabel ate her, made another one, ate it and then tried her luck a 3rd time before someone caught on!) They also stuffed their faces with spooky treats.

And Afterwards....

And later that same day (in pre-celebration of JL's birthday) :
