Wyatt: 8 Months

Wy Guy is 8 months today! He is growing so quickly! Right now he is working on crawling. He will sit, lean forward until he is in crawling position and then lift his hands, one and then the other. Then he'll rock back and forth and scooch his legs around until he finally moves forward a tiny bit. Then we all clap. This process is then repeated. It's terribly cute.

He's big on people food right now. He will eat ANYTHING. He's new favorites are spaghetti, briskett, catfish, and hush puppies! We just marvel at the way he can eat without any teeth (still!) The thumb on his right hand is the decided winner for the sucking question. He decided on it indefinitely on Aug 21st. Ever since then, it is his safe-fall for anything he's feeling sleepy or stressed.

Right now he is saying "hi" and "Da Da." He jabbers a lot and giggles at everything. Sometimes I'll hear "mamamamama" but it isn't often. He also makes this really cute "mmmmm" sound when he's begging for food. :)

Today he decided to go from the crawling position right into a sit position. Its amazing how fast he is changing. We just love him to pieces!

Catch a Wave

Thanks to my dear family, JL and I had a date night on the boat while they were here tending the kids. It was great! JL surfed w/out the rope for the first time! We also did a little wakeboarding. The lake was smooth and the water was still warm (despite the recent heavy rains). Epic!

Grandpa & Nana

My family has been out the past week visiting. We all had a great time together. James and Isabel roped Grandpa into reading to them about every time Grandpa tried to sit down for 5 seconds. :) And they both had Nana outside jumping on the tramp, playing bear cave, baseball, or just about anything else she was willing to do.

The Great Hunt

The boy somehow talked his father into a tarantula hunt last Monday. So, we decided for FHE (I know, huh!) we'd gather our flashlights, binoculars, hunting caps and head for the hills. Little did I know that we would be successful!

Everyone was SO excited! James just kept saying THIS IS AWESOME DAD!

The Prize

Yes, that is my tupperware!

The proud hunters

Rudy's and Matchy Matchy

There is nothing we love more than breakfast taco's at Rudy's. It's quite a fun family outting. We sit in the covered eating area, watch them stoke the fire, and chow down. This was Wyatt's first time to experience this fun event - and he was more than happy to chow down with the rest of us. He enjoyed the briskett, the sausage, the egg and the tortilla!!

Also, I can see now that I am going to be one of those Mothers that dresses their kids in the same (or same style) of clothes. I just couldn't resist these jammies the other day.....

See I was right! Aren't they too cute?!

Catch Up Time

We've been up to a lot the last couple weeks, it seems. Here's a bit of what's been going on:

We finished up baseball season

James started home-preschool :)

He is VERY focused when he tries to write his name

Wyatt is starting to crawl around. He mostly scooches at this point, but he gets where he wants to go
