The big 3 - 0

Well, despite my brief despair over turning 30, I had a wonderful birthday. We enjoyed a really nice breakfast and then went straight to presents! HA! It was all I could do to force James to eat because he was so excited to just open gifts! He's ready and primed for Christmas!

Isabel Jeanne got her first tooth overnight!

After that we took a drive out to Marble Falls. I love that drive, but this time of year it is especially beautiful. The trees were turning colors and the breeze was blowing just enough to make a few of them fall.

Once we were there we had lunch at one of my favorite little home-town stops. I had a Chocolate Fudge slice of pie. It was wonderful. I'd never heard of such a thing - it's basically a pie crust filled with brownie and served with icecream on top! YUM

After our bellies were full, we went to this really neat little handmade wood store where they sell all kinds of furniture pieces. I think James loved this place more than any of us. They had horses and a Dog named Rufus. He followed Rufus around saying "Here Rufus! Come let me pet you!" It was very, very cute. And Rufus, happy for the attention and use to that sort of thing, was happy to accommodate James!

Meanwhile, the purpose for our outting was in progress. I was in search of a bench for our front porch. Grandma, James, Isabel and I had checked the place out while she was visiting a couple of weeks before. And we each had our favorites. I had thought for sure that my favorite would turn out to be JL's least favorite. But low and behold - it was his favorite as well. We loaded it up and hauled it home. I think it fits our house perfectly and I'm so excited when I see it on the porch!

When the kiddies were in bed we watched IronMan. Excellent movie. I'm not a huge MARVEL movie lover - but this one was awesome! I recommend it!
