Hand over those O's and nobody gets hurt

They say the first step is to admit you have a problem. Well here goes.....I am a midnight snacker and I can't help or stop myself! For some reason I feel like I deserve a treat after dinner. (Especially if dinner consists of green leafy veggies and/or healthy stuff.) Which if you know me, it rarely does. But even if it doesn't happen to be completely healthy (think frozen pizza), it is rarely sweet. And I'm talking chocolate sweet. So I find myself sniffing around about an hour after dinner looking for anything and everything I consider to be a treat.

Usually I can hold myself off and have a glass of water instead. But the later in the evening it gets, the stronger my desire becomes. So, somewhere around 10 or 11 pm I cave. If it happens to be a weekend - this means ice cream. But for the other 4 nights of the week (I consider Friday night to be a weekend night) I am seriously lacking chocolatey goodness. Occasionally I can have 2 or 3 M&M's and call it good. Or, more recently, 2 or 3 OREO's and I'm fine.

But I think I may have come up with a solution to solve my problem on a more permanent basis. I discovered the other night (out of desperation) that Honey Nut Cheerio's are sweet and seem to hit the spot! If this pseudo treat holds up, it could be life changing for me! I mean, it's not snacking after all..... it's lowering my cholesterol!

I feel as though I have let ya' down as a sister here Lis'. I think that whole snacking after dinner thing comes from nursing.(least that is what I claimed! now I say it is the 26 pound whopper I carry around all day!) I could have told you about honey nut cheerios if I had only known I was not the only mid-night snack bandit! I found a granola cereal that I really like that is sweet that I can totally have no quilt about, you could try one like that! Good luck!!

Just two or three M&M's will do the trick. That's impressive in and of itself. Those Honey Nut Cheerios are rather tasty. I'm a round the clock snacker, so at least you don't have the other times of the day to feel bad about!

So I totally have a dessert for you. They are dove mini ice cream bars. You can find them at Wal-Mart in the ice cream section. It comes with a box of 16 tiny chocolate covered ice cream mini bars. They are like 3 bites of yummy goodness and are only 60 calories each. Usually 2 will satisfy any cravings I have.

I LOVE Honey Nut Cheerios, though for me it's that I must have a bowl for breakfast every morning. It's my favorite breakfast, which I try valiantly to hide on those special occasions when my family brings me some feast in bed. Sure, I force down the bacon and crepes, but really, I'm wanting those O's. lol Especially with a little milk, they really hit the spot!
