The day of James' actual birthday, he and Isabel attended another party for his best gal pal Rose (born on the same day as him - pretty much a tradition to celebrate together since the day they were born!) at Chuck E Cheese. First time for us to go there. Let me just tell you - the kids had a blast! Pictures to come (they are on my phone.)
That night, we had his family party. Uncle Matt was in town so it was double special for him to have so many visitors for his big day. Grammy made him a homemade chocolate cake, we opened presents, and then played with presents until the wee hours of the morning! Everyone that is, (except Wyatt who retired early).
My kids are THE cutest kids. Sorry everyone else.
I can't believe this boy is 5!
Izzy was clapping as James opened presents :)
Grammy got James some camo glasses! He instantly dubbed them "huntin' glasses" and wears them constantly now!
Yes, Dad got James a B B Gun for his 5th birthday!
I got him a bike and the sweetest helmet! On Saturday, we had his friend party. I'm not big on friend parties every year, but 5 seems like a big one, so I figured we'd celebrate in style. We rented the most awesome bouncer! I had kept it a surprise from James, so you can imagine how excited he was when the truck came and the guy started inflating it. He just kept saying "Whoa! That is awesome mom!" It was a great party. 5 acres is very conducive to large groups of kids! :)
Waiting for the blowie to inflate. All 3 of them were so excited!
The thing was awesome! Originally, I had reserved a water slide, but due to an unforseen leak with our well, we had to switch it up last minute. But I think it turned out much better! The day was cool (78) and just right for a nice, dry activity. They loved it!

Wyatt loved the cheese puffs!
Kids and land. So nice!
James and his buddy Max chowing down on some cake.
After all the kids left, the rest of us played! It was fun even for the adults!
