The Gear

How much gear does it take to send a 5 yr old to school?

Behold the 2011 supply list for Kindergarten:

2 Spiral Notebook (wide ruled) solid color
2 Plasctic Folders (with brads) any color
9x12 Manila Paper
1-8ct. Skinny Crayola Crayons
2-24ct.Crayola Crayons no scented, no glitter
1pk. Crayloa Classic Markers/Washable (8)
1 - Blunt Fiskar Scissors (metal)
2 Pink Erasers
1 Prang Watercolors (8ct/classic color)
2 Boxes Kleenex
1 Hand Sanitizer (8oz.)
1 Baby Wipes
1 Box Quart Ziplocs (Boys only)
1 Elmer's Glue (4oz.)
8 Elmer's Glue Sticks
1 Plastic school Box (5 1/2 x 8 1/2)

What does it all look like?

The challenge - finding "Prang" watercolors. What's so wrong with Crayola? Maybe I'll know once school starts. But I can tell you, ALL our local stores have been sold out for the past 2 weeks. Out of desperation - we drove around to two different towns looking for them. No luck. I finally tracked them down 3 towns away! I bought two of them ;-)

James also picked out his backpack a month ago. We had it personalized with his name - he is VERY excited about it! He also picked out his lunchbox while we were buying supplies. Do you see a theme occurring here?

His water bottle. Also holding true to his theme. (It didn't come with the lunchbox - he found it separate! The kid has an eye for camo.)

He wanted to pose for photos with him wearing his gear. He looks so grownup!

Tomorrow... Haircut time! ;-)

I think I would have just bought crayola and told the teacher y ou get what you get. Thank goodness we don't have to buy school supplies here. It is all furnished by the school But they do take donations. We are so excited for school at our house to. I have 2 in school now. Sydney in 2nd and Shelby in Pre-school. Our families are changing. But of course we stay the same age!

Love James' commitment to "camo" and your commitment to buying all the needed/right supplies. We can tell how excited he is to go to school.
