Friday

James' school kicked off "say no to drugs" week this past Friday by having an army helicopter land on their field. It was an event the entire family was invited to, so me and Izzy and Wyatt got to join in on the fun.

The presentation started with the pilot and the officers explaining the workings of the helicopter. They then talked about saying no to drugs and staying in school to achieve your dreams. After that, the kids were invited to climb inside the helicopter for a tour. Me and my little ones took off for that part, but we heard all about it from James. Apparently, he even got to see the helicopter take off at the end of the day! It was fun - and he talked about it for hours!

The kids got some playtime in before dinner

For dinner, we hit up a local BBQ shop that we hadn't tried before. It was delish! Wyatt LOVES meat! He pounded the briskett and sausage. Isabel loves corn and bread, but she also ate her fair share of sausage. James loves BBQ sauce on Briskett smashed into bread like a sandwich, with a bit of col'slaw on the side. :)

On our way home, we drove past the high school on a whim. Low and behold, the lights were on and there was a Friday football game about to start. We'd been talking about going to a game for about 2 years now, so we parked and went inside. Wyatt LOVES football! He was walking around (more like tromping) saying "BootBall!" at the top of his lungs for most of the first quarter. James was sorta into the game. He was mostly tired from his huge week (he had 2 baseball games in addition to his school stuff) while Isabel happily watched the cheerleaders dance and sing.
